Although 227 Abolitionist Place is no longer facing a wrecking ball, it continues to face legal hurdles until 2017. Afterwards, the focus shifts to Joy Chatel’s dream of reopening her home at 227 Abolitionist Place into a Museum Heritage Center. Her dream can only be achieved with your help. Please stand up for the Abolitionists who stood up for freedom.

NOTE: 227 Abolitionist Place is in the process of obtaining its tax-exempt 501(c) non profit organization to develop an independent museum/cultural center for the celebration of American history and Brooklyn’s resistance to slavery.
